When training our dog we can use our voice to mark wanted behaviour, a verbal marker is usually a short word like "yes" or "bing" that our dog seldom hears. We condition this word to give the information to our dog "you have earned reinforcement".
There are also many unique noise makers we can use that are more consistent and efficient in marking our dog's behaviour, the most commonly used are clickers and silent dog whistles.
